KD Top Camera Series FAQ
KD top camera laser cutter is often used in roll-to-roll textile, fabric, leather, plastic, and paper cutting process. It is the Co2 laser cutter combined with a Canon SLR camera and smart vision system which can automatically recognize the contour of the printed or embroidered fabrics, leather, and other flexible materials with super high accuracy and efficiency.
All KD top camera laser cutters are equipped with Canon 1500D, EOS Camera with 2,400 Mega Pixels. There are several different models for KD top camera series, and the recognition precision mainly depends on the size of the effective working area.
For the cutting area ranging from 900*600mm to 1300*1000mm, the vision software can reach industrial-grade recognition precision of less than 0.5mm cutting error.
For 1600*1000mm to 2000*1600mm, less than 1mm.
For bigger area ranges up to 2000*3000mm, a 1.5mm cutting error would be generated by the fastest corner of the graphics.
But for the 3200mm bigger working platform, a dual-camera system would be available and the cutting error can be controlled within 1mm again.
What laser power should I select? It will depend on what kind of materials you want to use this cutter to cut.
KD series laser cutter is often used in textile, fabric, leather, plastic, and paper cutting process. A general 100W glass laser tube would be more than enough.
If you want to cut thicker leather or composite fibers, a 130W, 150W or 200W laser cutter can have a faster speed.
KASU KD Series Camera Laser Cutter is equipped with a top Canon camera and can work under two modes: Vision Mode and No Vision Mode. So the answer is YES. You can cut non-print plain fabrics in the KD top camera laser cutters.
One Cutter, Dual Control Softwares.
While using this non-vision working mode, only CAD design and layout files are necessary. You can import the layout file into the laser control software and after setting cutting parameters, the laser cutter will start the cutting process automatically.
The answer is YES. But you will need the assistance of the conveyor belt and KD series model is more recommended for cutting the graphics with 1-2mm black contour lines.
KD Series’ with conveyor model can cut the oversized length of graphics and realize continuous cutting with high production and high accuracy.
For the printed fabrics with visible and clear single color edges, or the ones with multiple color edges but can have a 1-2mm black contour line outside the graphics, KD Series’ contour auto-detection mode can work perfectly.
The design file is NO NEED for this working mode. The cutting path will be generated automatically. No joint error and no need for human intervention. And no need to purchase big-size machines, which can save both your money and factory space.
It will depend on what functions you are using this series cutter, and the answer is YES and NO.
KASU KD top Canon camera Series laser is equipped with a Canon camera and has two working modes: Vision Mode and Non-Vision Mode.
While using this non-vision working mode, you can prepare the CAD design and layout files from other software and import the files into the laser control software to generate the cutting file. The answer is YES.
Or you can draw the cutting path in our laser control software directly and after setting cutting parameters, the laser cutter will start the cutting process automatically. The answer is NO.
When using the vision working mode, KD Series’ contour auto-detection mode generates the cutting path automatically. So NO cutting file is needed for this mode.
But for the graphic feature template matching mode, if the design is complicated and the printed or embroidered graphics have small distortion, it is recommended to import the design file into our vision software to generate the template. Then the answer is YES.
But if the printed or embroidered graphics have big distortion, you better draw the cutting path in our laser software and generate a template directly. A prepared cutting file is also NO use under this condition.
